4. SMS & Text Messaging Terms

These terms govern the Central Medical Center text messaging program. By providing your mobile number and checking a consent box on our forms, you agree to these terms.

4.1 Program Description

Central Medical Center offers SMS text messaging to patients and prospective patients who provide their mobile number and give consent on our forms. Marketing consent is collected separately from non-marketing consent. Our forms present two independent consent checkboxes, neither of which is pre-selected or required in order to submit the form:

Non-marketing messages include appointment confirmations, appointment reminders, rescheduling notices, notifications that lab results are ready to discuss, follow-up care instructions, replies to your inquiries, and account or billing notifications.

Marketing messages include promotional offers, wellness information, new service announcements, new location announcements, and special pricing.

You may consent to either, both, or neither. You will only receive the message types you have expressly agreed to receive.

Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchase or of receiving treatment.

4.2 How to Opt In

You may join the program by:

  • Checking a consent box on our appointment request form at https://www.centralmedcenter.com/contact

  • Checking a consent box on written patient intake paperwork completed at one of our clinics

  • Giving verbal consent when you call our office at (214) 760-9701 to schedule, which we record in our patient management system

  • Replying START or YES to a message from us to resubscribe after opting out

4.3 Sending Number

Messages are sent from (214) 609-1468. Replies to that number are received by our patient support team. For immediate assistance, call our main line at (214) 760-9701.

4.4 Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your appointments, your inquiries, and the consents you have selected.

4.5 Message and Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply for any messages sent to you from us and to us from you. If you have questions about your text or data plan, contact your wireless provider.

4.6 Opt-Out

You can cancel the SMS service at any time. Reply STOP to any message you receive from us. We also honor STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, and QUIT. We will send a confirmation message, after which you will no longer receive SMS messages from us. To rejoin, sign up again as you did the first time, or reply START.

4.7 Help and Support

Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or contact us directly at (214) 760-9701 or info@centralmedcenter.com.

4.8 Age Restriction

You must be 18 years of age or older to participate in our text messaging program.

4.9 Supported Carriers and Carrier Liability

The program is available on major U.S. wireless carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is not guaranteed and may be affected by factors outside our control.

4.10 Mobile Information Sharing

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing with subcontractors in support services, such as customer service and messaging platform providers, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

4.11 Protected Health Information in Text Messages

Text messages are not a secure channel. We limit the health information included in SMS and will not transmit detailed diagnoses, lab results, or treatment records by text. For anything involving your protected health information, we will direct you to a secure channel or ask you to call our office.

Do not send us urgent medical information by text. Text messaging is not monitored around the clock and must never be used for medical emergencies. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 911.

4.12 Changes to the Program

We may modify or discontinue the text messaging program at any time. Material changes to these SMS terms will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.

As a healthcare provider, Central Medical Center is subject to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). We maintain strict administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your PHI. We will not use or disclose your PHI without your written authorization except as permitted by HIPAA for treatment, payment, and healthcare operations, or as otherwise required by law.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal and health information, including encrypted data transmission (SSL/TLS), secure server environments, access controls, and regular security audits. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
